Welcome to Our School

Welcome to our Tutor Time educational child care center in Jenison, MI! My name is Katy and I am the director. I have been with the company since 2005, working as a teacher for the first four years and as a manager ever since! Our assistant director, Pam, has been with the company since 2001, working as a teacher for 5 years and as a manager ever since!

Our school offers Infant Care, Preschool and other age-specific programs for the Jenison, Hudsonville, Grandville and Wyoming area. We are nationally accredited and the standards we follow are higher than the State of Michigan's Child Daycare Licensing Standards.

I view all the staff, students, and parents as if they are a part of my own family. We have a warm and welcoming environment here and maintain an open-door policy. We hold many events throughout the year so our families can get to know one another.

Majority of the staff has been here five years or more and has qualifications in early childhood education. Combined, they have over 100 years of experience!

Education: Bachelor of Science in Family Community Services with a Young Child Emphasis from Michigan State University

Certifications: First Aid and CPR

I have always had a desire to work with children and their families, and what better way to impact their lives than through early childhood education! I like to spend my spare time with my husband and three children at our cottage and cheering on Michigan State.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Juvenile Emphasis from GVSU; 15 credit hours in ECE from University of Phoenix; 3 CEUs in ECE Administration

Certifications: First Aid and CPR

I have a passion for working with people and serving the community. I love the lifelong relationships I am able to build with the children, families and teachers at Tutor Time. I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, camping with family and friends, and running 5Ks.

Education: Bachelors in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University

I have had a love for children from an early age and always knew I wanted to be a teacher. As the school education manager, I get to not only spend time and build relationships with all the students in our building, but assist our teachers in making their classroom the best they can be! Outside of Tutor Time, I love spending time with my husband and two children! We enjoy family walks together and watching movies!
